After a while, I began thinking calling people by their titles was so wrong. In the New Testament. I’ve seen it as a way to put the church laity (I hate that word) in “their place.” They may be directing you to do something not in the Bible, but it’s alright because you call them a pastor and they’re some how closer to God than you are.

Omar I truly appreciate your boldness and honesty. I yet struggle with homosexuality. I undeniably believe Gods Word. It’s one of the strongest battles of my life. I’ve dealt with same sex desires since I was 9. I’m now 38. I was never molested, handled wrongfully, it came natural for me to desire men. I have asked God numerous times to take it away. And yet it remains. It may be that it will be a thorn in my flesh until God calls me out. But I also know if that be he will give me the grace to endure through and it not have power over me but I have power over it! Please continue to pray for me. I truly thank God for you overcoming same sex desires. What a powerful testimony indeed

Wow, my young brother! This is a very powerful message and underscores the unbalance in the Church. Not only are spiritual gifts being used as titles and entitlement, but those with less prominent gifts are sitting down on the job, not doing what they’re called to do for the Body of Christ. There are believers who think it’s the pastor’s job to minister, but the truth is that each of us has a ministry, a work to do for the Kingdom. You write so eloquently and nailed this issue with perfect scriptural backing! Well done, fellow servant! I look forward to reading more of your writings as given to you by our Heavenly Father.
